Training & Development
We recognise that developing your skills, and those of your staff, is an essential part of maintaining the high standards pub goers are looking for, especially in traditional English pubs such as ours.
The skills required to run each pub will be different, that’s why we will always try to match you to the pubs best suited to your skills and ambitions and design a training plan matched to your needs and those of your business. Our commitment to training is reflected by the development of The Eagle Centre. This is our purpose built facility that offers unparallelled access to our award winning and nationally recognised training courses.
Induction Programme
Before taking over a pub, you will be invited to attend our comprehensive Induction and Training Programme. The Induction Programme is designed to prepare you for the diverse challenges of running your own pub and leads to the nationally recognised BII qualifications including the National Certificate for Personal Licence Holders (NCPLH). This is a non residential course held at The Eagle Centre, Bedford.
For more information on our induction programme and other training courses, see our Training section.
Ongoing Training
Once you’re in your pub, we will keep you regularly up dated about training opportunities available to you and your staff. Your business reviews with your BDM will also help to identify further training needs. Nationally recognised qualifications available include:
- CIEH Foundation Food
- CIEH Intermediate Food
- WSET Certificate in Wine Hospitality
- Advanced Certificate and Diploma in Licensed Hospitality
- Foundation Degree in Professional Licensed Retailing
