Location
The Peacock is located in the middle of the countryside, just off the A52 in between Grantham and Nottingham. Steeped in history, this old 18th Century Coaching Inn nestles in the beautiful Vale of Belvoir, in the small and charming village of Redmile. From the A1 take the Grantham exit onto the A52 towards Nottingham. After 4 miles take the left hand turn for Belvoir Castle and then the first turning right into Redmile. The Peacock is located at the far end of the village near the church. From the A46 from Leicester, join the A52. Once past Whatton, take the right hand turn to Belvoir Castle and follow the road for 3 miles into Redmile. The pub is situated on the left as you enter the village. The small rural village of Redmile is well situated to take advantage of great country walks, biking in the vale and strolls along the Grantham Canal. It has a church, school and one other pub, with a population of around 590. The real draw to the area, besides its natural charm, is Belvoir Castle, a stately home owned by the Duke of Rutland with 15,000 acres of land, gardens, ongoing activities and events, plus a country hotel.
