ELY PUB SET TO FLY HIGH AGAIN
The High Flyer in Ely is set to fly again following an exciting partnership agreement between two of the industry’s major companies and their substantial investment into redeveloping the pub.
The Orchid Group, the UK's 6th largest pub operator, is re-opening The High Flyer, a Charles Wells Pub Company business, following a £250K joint investment. The project was conceived by Charles Wells’ design team and developed in consultation with The Orchid Group and when it reopens, it will trade under Orchid's Free House Dining division.
Craig Mayes Director of Operations at Charles Wells Pub Company said "This is the first of a number of potential pubs Orchid are looking to develop alongside Charles Wells. Paul Cutsforth, Operations Director at The Orchid Group adds, “The High Flyer is a great new addition for us. With its close proximity to the High Street, it gives us an opportunity to evolve our Free House Dining division offering. We’re looking forward to restoring this Ely gem and creating a real community focused pub that locals can be proud of.”
The development project included a full internal and external refurbishment providing eating and drinking space for 125 customers. It refreshed a sizeable external drinking area and redecoration has given the 5 letting rooms a new lease of life.
