Make your voice heard - Text The Chancellor
Thanks to everyone who's supported the Axe the Beer Tax Campaign so far and don't forget you can still get involved by pledging your support, lobbying your MP and joining the facebook group. Details of all these initiatives can be found on www.axethebeertax.com.
The organisers are still pushing to get the Chancellor to drop his plans to increase beer tax in the Budget on 22nd April and the campaign needs the support of everyone in the industry to rally round and help ensure we're not battered AGAIN in the budget. The next stage of the campaign is to run a full page advert in the Sun this week and details from the British Beer and Pub Association (BBPA) are given below.
Please show your support by joining the text revolution and help demonstrate the strength of feeling there is in the country against raising beer tax again and putting yet more pubs at risk. And please get all your family, friends, business contacts etc etc behind the campaign as well - we really can influence policy decisions if we all pull together.
ACTION: SEND A TEXT TO ALISTAIR DARLING
WHEN: STARTING MONDAY 30 MARCH
WHAT: TEXT THE WORD LOBBY TO 81025
Week commencing Monday 30th March the Sun will be running the BBPA full page campaign advert.
The call to action on the advert will be for readers to text the word "LOBBY" to 81025. This will do two things automatically:
1) Send an email to Chancellor Alistair Darling asking him to axe plans to increase beer tax in the forthcoming Budget.
2) Send a thank you text inviting the sender to visit AxeTheBeerTax.com
This opportunity to send a message to the Chancellor is not restricted to Sun readers!
The more texters the better.
