The Jackal, is an attractive Pub & Restaurant tucked away in a small village just off the main A6 in North Bedfordshire; a pretty part thatched building with an abundance of flowering baskets and pots in the late spring and summer months, and rolling fields to the rear. Inside cosy log fires greet you in the winter. Inside you will value the cosy atmosphere, the traditional yet newly modernised decor with subtle lighting that radiates the ambience we have created. This compliments the relaxed and efficient service you will receive from our staff. There is both a Restaurant and an informal welcoming Bar where we offer well planned menus; with dishes to suit all tastes and budgets. Large child friendly garden.

Finalist in the Best Self Employed Person of the Year 2010 Category with the FSB Bedfordshire Business Awards. Shortlisted for the Morning Advertiser’s best tenanted Pub of The Year Award. Finalists in the London and East Anglia region of the Licensee of the Year Competition, organised by The British Institute of Innkeeping (BII). Included in the 'Good Pub Guide 2012'.

Food:

The Jackal uses as much seasonal and local produce as possible, always preparing and cooking dishes to order. Food is served as follows: Monday closed all day. Tuesday-Saturday 12.00-2.00pm & 7.00-9.00pm. Sunday 12-2.00pm. Choose from various dishes such as Steak & Stilton Pudding with Mashed Potato & Braised Savoy Cabbage, Seafood & Shell Fish Bouillabaisse, finished with White Wine Cream & Saffron, or Creamy Butternut Squash Risotto with Toasted Pinenuts or traditional Sunday Lunch.

Bar Meals:

Lunches are served Every Tuesday to Saturday from 12pm until 2pm. Choose from a variety of Filled Torpedo Rolls or Wraps, served with crisps and salad, or Game & Apple Sausages with Mashed Potato & a Blackberry & Apple Pan Gravy.
