Young's Champion (5.0% ABV)

Another award-winning bottled ale from Young’s, Champion is Tesco Beer Challenge Winner 2003, has a prized Star rating from Jeff Evans, in the Good Bottled Beer Guide 2006 and in the International Beer Challenge 2006 was voted one of the ‘Top 50 World’s Best Beers’.
A wonderful combination of English malted barley and Styrian hops provides a well rounded floral and citrus flavour with hints of fruit, finished off with a dry, hoppy bitterness that is given added zest by the live yeast in the bottle.”

Tasting Notes – Jeff Evans (Good Bottled Beer Guide)

A pale golden beer with grapefruit, elderflower and lemon in the floral nose. The taste is also floral and fruity-hoppy (more elderflower and lemon), with bitter notes balanced by buttery malt sweetness. Dry hoppy finish with lingering creamy malt sweetness and lemon.” Jeff Evans

Champion is a 100% malt brew with English Lager malt with Styrian hops. It is an unpasteurised, living beer, matured in the bottle for a fuller, more complex, multi-dimensional, fresher taste. With no artificial carbonation, the only fizz is the natural effervescence created by fermentation.
